2Timothy Chapter Four

1. Give me your word, before God and the Lord Jesus Christ  who will call to account the living and the dead when he returns in the full power of his heavenly Kingdom

2. Preach the Word whether it is a favorable time or whether it is inopportune and difficult. Bring discipline and warnings along with encouragement in line with the Word, and let God deal with those who hear you.

3. One day people will not even want to put up with right teaching, but because they want what they want to get out of it, they will seek out an array of teachers who will tell them just what they want to hear.

4. They won’t want to listen to truth but will listen to whatever concept of truth suits their agenda.

5. Show discipline and restraint in everything, manage the pressure, keep proclaiming the great news of Jesus, and put your heart and soul into what God has called you to do.

6. I am ready for God to take me, and my time has come.

7. I have fought hard and well, run the race and met the goals, and my faith remains strong.

8. There is a crown of God’s approval of  a rightly lived life waiting for me, which the Lord, who is a fair and just judge, will give me on that day, along with all those who are waiting for his return.

9. Try to get here as soon as you can.

10. Demas has abandoned me, preferring the pleasures of this world. He has gone to Thessalonica. Crescens has gone to Galatia and Titus is in Dalmatia.

11. Luke is the only one still here with me. Get Mark to come with you to me, because he can be of great help to me in the work of God that I still have to do.

12. I sent Tychicus to Ephesus.

13. Please bring the cloak that I left at Troas with Carpus with you when you come, and don’t forget the books, especially the parchments.

14. Alexander the coppersmith has caused me much harm but I know God will deal with him.

15. But watch our for him, because he has opposed everything we have said and taught

16. At my first formal trial no one was willing to stand with me. They cut and ran off, but I am praying that God will have mercy on them.

17. But the Lord stood with me as always and gave me his strength, so that what I preached would be clearly and thoroughly heard, and by all the Gentiles as well. God saved me from the jaws of the lion.

18. And God will save me from everything that can harm me, and protect and keep me till he brings me into his heavenly Kingdom. Praise and glorify his name forever – Amen.

19. Greet Prisca and Aquila for me, and also all those of the household of Onesiphorus.

20 Erastus stayed at Corinth, but I left Trophimus at Miletum because he was so ill.

21. Try hard to get here before winter. Eubulus says hello to you, and also Pudens and Linus, and Claudia, and the other brothers.

22. The Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, and may his goodness bless you. Amen.
