2 PETER CHAPTER 1 - CONTEMPORARY ALIGNED VERSION (SPIRITCODE)

1. From Simon Peter, commissioned to serve by Jesus Christ to all those who have been granted the same kind of special faith

life that we have because of the perfect disposition of our God and Savior Jesus Christ.

2. I want you to experience the abundance of God’s great goodness and peace through coming to thoroughly know this person, our Lord and God, Jesus Christ.

3. His divine power transfers everything to us that is needed to live out his very own Godly life as we get to know him intimately, being invited to share in his strength and excellence of character.

4.And so we receive these most wonderful assurances and promises, being bonded to him in all that he is and all that he has, and set free from being bonded to the corrupt and destructive culture of a world that does whatever it pleases.

5. With this disposition of faith as a platform for your life put your heart into developing decency of character, and then start learning things that are truly worth knowing.

6. And let what you learn help you to manage and control your appetites, so that you learn how to wait for things; delay rather than instant gratification. You can then start living a life devoted to God.

7. Then let that life begin to express itself in showing kindness to others, and let that blossom into an unselfish love for all.

8. If you establish these things in your life and they become your core values, there will be nothing futile or unsuccessful about your hand in hand walk with our Lord Jesus Christ.

9. But if these things are not important in your life it is like you are still in the dark and can’t see where God wants to take you. Its as if you have forgotten how he has restored you to his innocence.

10. So you should be vigorously responding to this wonderful invitation to be part of God’s big picture, because if you do establish those core values in your life you will never really mess up.

11. Instead you will be divinely ushered into the powerful supernatural arena of God’s activity, the eternal realm of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

12. So I am determined to be constantly reminding you of these things even though you already know them, because I want you to be firmly established in this truth that has come to us.

13. I am convinced that it is the right thing to do, as long as I am alive, to be reminding and re-awakening your minds and hearts to all of this.

14. I will be leaving this old body behind soon. I know this because the Lord Jesus has revealed it to me.

15. And I am going to do my best to make sure that you will never forget what I have said even after I am dead and gone.

16. We were not reciting an account of some strange mythology when we declared to you the power and presence of our Lord Jesus Christ. We saw it with our very own eyes.

17. God the Father bestowed great glory and honor upon him when he declared in a mighty and majestic voice ‘This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased (listen to him. Matt 17:5).’

18. We heard God’s voice come from Heaven when we were with Jesus on the holy mountain of transfiguration.

19. We have also been given a reliable and trustworthy prophetic word of hope and purpose, and you need to listen to it very carefully. It is a light shining in a dark place, like the daystar arising in your hearts before the day fully dawns.

20. And the most important thing to realize is that no prophecy from the Scriptures comes from mere human inspiration.

21. Scriptural prophecy down through the ages has had nothing to do with man’s plans or ideas, but those who were set apart by God spoke only when and how the Holy Spirit directed them.
